The story behind this music is a bit unusual. After 20 years of playing I advanced musically and spiritually and wrote Earthgate. I then experienced another 13 years of practice without moving forward. Finally, in October 2004, patience was rewarded, and all the remaining compositions on the two albums came pouring out.

This surge in creativity is definitely tied in with my experiences with an Amazonian healer, Guillermo Arevalo, and his traditional Shipibo spiritual practice. My approach to music has entirely changed. Every new composition now tells me what it is about - a person, a place, or a specific thing, as if I were recognizing the essential energy through the music.

I feel as if, having followed the tributaries long and far enough, I finally reached the sea, the same sight that has inspired all my musical heros. Below you can see what each song on the albums has meant for me...
