In the early nineties I met Saskia Bosman. She was a materials chemist at the University of the Hague when she experienced an encounter with an 'Archangel'. She was instructed to set up quite complex brass and crystal structures at some dozen locations around the world and to ensure that they remained there in place until 2018.

Though she resisted at first, in the end she journeyed to every location and found homes for these structures, called Earthgates. It was not a simple task, and her persistence in succeeding speaks to the depth of her encounter. At about the same time I met Saskia, I came across an Amazonian healer. My music moved forward, with this song, named after Saskia's work. It was the first work I did in a new tuning, D minor ninth. I did not know at the time that it would be thirteen years before I advanced again. The song reflected the mystery of angelic experience, and it presaged all the compositions that would come in this new tuning.
